Local Women Honored At Leadership In The Workplace Conference

"Michigan Matters" senior producer and host Carol Cain will receive a Distinguished Leadership Award for helping to promote diversity through her media work at the 16th Annual Women and Leadership in the Workplace Conference on Thursday, January 26th.

This celebration will include an awards luncheon, seminars and speakers. It is hosted by the Michigan Business and Professional Association.

"We have had the pleasure of working with Carol for many years and find her to be not only an outstanding journalist but one who genuinely cares about her community and goes the extra mile to help," said Ed Deeb, chairman of MBPA.

Others also receiving leadership awards in their fields at the MBPA: Margarita Barry, I Am Young Detroit-Detroit Design Lab; Annis Brown, Teach for America; Theresa Chiang, APACC; Sandra Hermanoff, Hermanoff & Assoc. Inc.; Susan Martin, president, Eastern Michigan University; Vivian Pickard, GM Foundation; Judy Zehnder Keller, Bavarian Inn; Hon. Marilyn Kelly, Michigan Supreme Court; Dara Munson, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Detroit; and Dr. Ora H. Pescovitz, M.D., University of Michigan Health System.
