Doug Karsch: Detroit Could Get Another Super Bowl

By all accounts this Super Bowl in Indianapolis has been well received. I over heard some members of the local media here telling stories of waiting to get panned specifically by the New York media for Indianapolis having "cow's in the street" and "a stadium that wreaks of a pasture."

The opposite is the truth.

What the NFL elites have discovered in recent years is that America's biggest game can be housed in many untraditional super caliber markets. Detroit did it with a high degree of success and now Indianapolis is hitting it out of the park.

With an outdoor cold weather Super Bowl on the horizon in New York in a couple of years look for Indianapolis' success to spawn a Chicago super Bowl.

With that new open-mindedness reshaping standard thinking, if Detroit leadership can get another bid together I am confident that the Ford brand could bring the big game to the Motor City in the next decade.
