WATERFORD TWP. (WWJ) – Waterford Township police say alcohol appears to have been a factor in a fatal crash along Cooley Lake Road north of Cass Elizabeth Road.

It was just after 12 a.m. Monday when police say a Ford Excursion traveling eastbound crossed the center line and then ran into a ditch.

The driver, 26-year old Aaron Boyle of Pontiac, was thrown from the vehicle and killed. His passenger, a 32-year old Waterford man, suffered minor injuries. Neither was wearing a seatbelt.

Police believe Boyle may have been drinking alcohol before the accident.

An investigation continues. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information relating to the incident is asked to call Waterford Township police.
