Detroit Defeats Wright State 71-55

CLEVELAND (AP) — Jason Calliste scored 14 points and Detroit dominated close to the basket in a 71-55 win over Wright State on Wednesday night.

The Titans outrebounded Wright State 35-22, including 11 on the offensive end, and outscored the Raiders 20-10 in the paint and 16-6 on second-chance points.

Eli Holman added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Titans (16-12, 10-6 Horizon League), who have won three games in a row and six of their past seven. Also, Doug Anderson added 11 points and Chase Simon had 10 for the Titans.

Detroit led 49-41 and went on a 13-4 run to claim its biggest lead of the game at 62-45 with 7:05 to play after two free throws by Calliste.

The two teams combined to shoot 58 free throws with Detroit going 20 for 26.

Julius Mays scored 16 points and Armond Battle added 11 for the Raiders (12-16, 7-9).
