Jeff Riger: Trade Talk Overheard At Wings Practice

Thursday afternoon was a big day for news as far as the Detroit Red Wings are concerned. When the media reached the dressing room, it had been determined that Henrik Zetterberg would miss Friday's game against Nashville with a lower body injury. Mike Babcock nor Zetterberg himself seemed very concerned about the injury, both stating that Z should be able to play Sunday against the Sharks at the Joe. Also scheduled to play in that San Jose game is Jimmy Howard, who had a net to himself during practice for the first time since breaking his finger. Howard claims he needs a couple more reps and then he should be ready to go.

But the real interesting stuff did not cover injuries at practice, instead the chatter was all about trades as the February 27th deadline is looming. Below are the 3 most interesting cuts as Detroit and the rest of the league get set to find out what new faces will be on what new teams?

Babcock was then asked if he is comfortable with his team as the deadline approaches...

Believe it or not there wasn't much talk about the 21 game home winning streak at practice, however Lidstrom did talk about the opportunity to now shatter the previous record set by the 1929-30 Bruins and 1975-76 Flyers considering they already have set the new mark.
