Father Of Lions Fluellen Dies During Basketball Game

Rev. Charles Fluellen, 57, father of Lions defensive tackle Andre Fluellen, collapsed and died of an apparent heart attack during a charity basketball game in Cartersville, Ga.

Rev. Fluellen was director of the Bartow County Transit Department and the pastor of his local Church.

He was playing in a "pastor vs. politicians" charity basketball game, according to the Cartersville Daily Tribune News, when he complained of chest pains and lost consciousness. Rev. Fluellen was pronounced dead at Cartersville Medical Center.

The son of Rev. Fluellen, Andre graduated from Cartersville High School (Georgia) in 2003 and was a four-year player at Florida State University. Fluellen was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft.
