Police Investigate Apparent Murder-Suicide In Livonia

LIVONIA (WWJ/AP) - Police say the shooting deaths of a married couple in Livonia are being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide.

Police say they were called to an area near 6 Mile and Newburgh around 8 p.m. Tuesday to check on the wellbeing of the couple.

Through a window, officers say they could see what appeared to be a victim lying on the floor inside the house, unresponsive. When officers entered the house, they discovered a 65-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman dead of gunshot wounds.

The couple is identified as Larry Roy Thomas and Kelly Renee Thomas, both of Livonia. Police say the investigation indicates that Larry Thomas shot his wife before shooting himself.

The couple was experiencing marital problems and the marriage appeared to be dissolving, according to investigators.

An investigation is ongoing.
