D'Andre Lane's Attorney Says There Was No Child Abuse Against Bianca Jones

DETROIT (Talk Radio 1270) Following his arraignment on charges of first degree murder and child abuse in the disappearance and presumed death of 2-year-old Bianca Jones, the attorney for father D'Andre Lane stopped by Charlie Langton's' morning show to defend his client.

"There's been no CPS reports filed, no one has made any allegation that Mr. Lane has abused Bianca," attorney Terry Johnson said about the child abuse charges.

Lane, 32, has seven children with different women, and no past allegation of child abuse. Langton asked Johnson to address a claim by Lane's roommate that Bianca wet the bed or had a toilet issue the night before she disappeared and Lane may have "hit her or beat her."

"Hit her, beat her, no, those things did not happen," Johnson said. "The term 'beat' and 'hit' are just absolutely not fair."

Lane told police he was carjacked in early December while driving his daughter in Detroit, the car was recovered with a car seat inside -- but there was no Bianca. Manhunts across the city and pleas for her return failed to turn up the baby.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said there's no question Bianca is dead; she said Lane made up the carjacking to cover up the killing.

"He gave the Detroit police a description (of the carjacker)," Johnson said. "We've cooperated with police, unfortunately, the police have decided not to cooperate with us."
