Frustrated Lidstrom Returns To Ice

--Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom skated for 30 minutes Monday morning with his teammates, an encouraging sign. Lidstrom hadn't been on the ice for more than five minutes since suffering a deep bone bruise in his right ankle on Feb. 25, when he was hit by a puck. Lidstrom has missed the past 10 games and probably won't play Wednesday at the New York Rangers. But, after saying Wednesday that he was "frustrated and discouraged," he appears headed in the right direction after staying off the ice for four days.

--F Johan Franzen missed his second game in a row due to back spasms, but he he believes he won't be out much longer. He didn't skate Monday, but said he feels better and hopes to return this week. He said he doesn't need to have an MRI, "not as long things are going in the right direction."
