As for the Webb fair, Webb said it has been struggling to fill engineering positions this year — due, the company assumes, to the number of engineers who moved out of state during the recession.
The event takes place Thursday, April 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Engineering Society of Detroit headquarters, 20700 Civic Center Drive, Suite 450, Southfield.
Webb is looking for professionals with a background in material handling. Specifically, they are seeking controls engineers, mechanical designer engineers, project engineers, project manager of warehouse distribution, senior project managers, systems engineers and estimators, and vehicle electrical, software and systems engineers.
B. Webb provides material handling systems including automatic guided vehicles, conveyors, baggage handling systems and automated storage and retrieval systems. As a subsidiary of Daifuku Co., Ltd., Jervis B. Webb is one of the largest material handling companies in the world.
