Marketing Pure Michigan: MEDC Seeks Proposals for State Travel Guide

LANSING -- The Michigan Strategic Fund and the Michigan Economic Development Corp. have issued a Request for Proposals publish Michigan Travel Ideas, the official travel guide for the state of Michigan, in 2013.

"As we continue to build on the success of the Pure Michigan campaign in attracting new visitors from across the nation to Michigan, it is important we are delivering key information on Michigan destinations in a way that is consumer-friendly and economically sound," said MEDC President and CEO Michael A. Finney.

The RFP seeks a marketing partner and publisher with extensive knowledge of Michigan tourism efforts to handle copy writing and content development, sales, production and proactive distribution of Michigan Travel Ideas.

According to the 31-page RFP, it is designed to provide potential bidders with sufficient information to submit a proposal that meets the MEDC's minimum requirements, but the minimum requirements contained in this RFP are not intended to limit the proposal's content or exclude any information the bidder feels is relevant or essential to their bid.

Applicant questions are due back to the MEDC via email by April 6. A Q&A will be posted on the MEDC Web site about the RFP on April 13. The electronic proposal submission deadline is May 7.

Questions regarding the RFP should be sent to: contracts&grants@michigan.org. Please note: The MSF will not respond to questions that are not received by the above date in time. In addition, questions that are phoned, faxed or sent through regular mail will not be accepted.
