Tips Sought In Racist Road Sign Hacking

ALLEN PARK (WWJ) – The investigation into who hacked into a portable road work sign along I-94 on Monday continues.

Michigan State Police confirm the sign has been processed for evidence and returned to its owner.

Officials said someone who "knew what they were doing" broke into the control panel and changed the construction notice to a racial slur directed at Trayvon Martin, the Florida teen killed in a confrontation with a neighborhood watchman.

There have been no arrests in the road sign case.

MSP is asking anyone with information about the incident to call 248-584-5740.
