Wallace Could Retire As Worst-Ever Foul Shooter
Center Ben Wallace may have played the last game of his illustrious 16-year career. Wallace said this would be his last season, then had second thoughts toward the end of the 66-game schedule. If he is finished, he'll go into retirement with four Defensive Player of the Year awards and one unflattering title -- all-time worst free-throw shooter.
He ended the season with a career average of 41.4 percent, including 34 percent this season. Chris Dudley, who played in the league from 1987-2002, holds the distinction of worst foul shooter among retired players with a minimum of 500 games at 45.8 percent.
