DETROIT (WWJ) – The mid-morning murder of her son on a busy Detroit street last summer, has a mother pleading for help from the public.

WWJ’s Pat Sweeting reports that the murder occurred on Friday, last August 5, at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Hubbell and Schoolcraft on Detroit’s westside.

Detroiter L’Con Wilson and a friend were sitting in an Oldsmobile minivan, while stopped at a light. Minutes later a car pulls up and bullets are fired into Wilson’s van.

The shooter is still at large.

“There were people out walking, there were city workers working, if anyone, if anyone knows anything – I beg you to please come forward,” said Wilson’s mother Charmin Wilson Camin.

She said her son died at the scene; he had suffered a bullet wound to the head.

The 24-year old man in the van with him suffered an injury to his arm.

Anyone who has information is asked to call 1-(800) SPEAK-UP.
