ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WWJ) – An Ann Arbor man has his stolen computer back — thanks to some cool technology that helped to track down the suspect in the case.

The suspect, a 19 year-old man, is in custody after the laptop police say he stole snapped his picture and emailed it to a security site. It happened when Logan Chadde returned home to find his computer had been stolen in a break-in.

Little did the thief know that Chadde had installed software designed to take the user’s photo and email it to a security web site. The program caught the thief talking on Facebook about how he intended to sell the stolen computer. Chadde sent the photo to the police, complete with the thief’s full name. Police say they’re familiar with the suspect, whose name hasn’t been released.
