Medical Examiner Names Woman Found Dead In Rouge River

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Wayne County Medical Examiner has now identified the woman whose body was found floating in the Rouge River on Wedneday.

She's been identified as 46-year-old April Lynn Black, who was last seen a week ago in the area of Joy Road and Telegraph.  A passerby noticed the body floating face down in the river and called police.  Officials haven't release an official cause of death and the investigation continues.

Black reportedly drove to a 7-Eleven at Joy and Telegraph roads in her 2001 blue Ford Taurus and hasn't been seen since. Her car was also reported missing. The 7-Eleven is just blocks from where the body was found.

Relatives told The Detroit News they became extremely concerned after Black missed her daughter's graduation.
