DETROIT — If you’ve got a brilliant business idea, here’s another competition to enter for cash to help pursue your dream.

TechTown, Wayne State University’s business accelerator in Midtown Detroit, is hosting Startup Soup on Friday, Aug. 3. Register to pitch at Startup Soup by Sunday, July 1.

A panel of judges will select finalists to present at Startup Soup. Each finalist will have five minutes to pitch their business and field questions from the crowd. Attendees then enjoy soup, discuss the businesses and vote for their favorite.

The winner receives:
* $1,500 generously donated by our sponsors, Hennessey Capital and Huntington Bank
* The door kitty ($5 per person at the door)
* Five workshop vouchers from TechTown

Finalists receive:
* Two workshop vouchers from TechTown

Startup Soup will be held at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3, at 2051 Rosa Parks Boulevard, Detroit.
