Tigers Will Face These Uniforms In Tampa

The Tigers take on the Tampa Bay Rays next weekend in St. Petersburg. The second game of the series will be throwback night at Tropicana Field, featuring a post game concert from Earth, Wind, and Fire plus both the Tigers and Rays will wear throwback jerseys from 1979.
Hmm if my memory is correct there was not a Tampa Bay Ray team in 1979, in fact the Rays did not enter the American League until 1998. However that is not stopping the Rays from having a Turn Back The Clock night where they will don what they call hypothetical jerseys that they would have worn in 1979. Some think these are lame, I actually think they are kind of cool. What say you? Here is manager Joe Maddon modeling the uniform.
