Car Theft Victim Shot In Head, Killed In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Police say a Detroit man was shot and killed while trying to stop someone from stealing his car Friday morning.
Reports from the scene say the man was sleeping but woke up around 1 a.m. when he heard noises outside of his home in the 6100 block of Lafayette, near Livernois.
The man reportedly looked out the window and saw someone trying to steal his car. He allegedly went outside to confront the suspect and was shot in the head.
EMS officials say the man, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital. Doctors worked to save his life but were unable to do so.
Detroit Police say they're now looking for the man's stolen car, which is described as a black Ford Crown Victoria with chrome wheels.
