Mount Clemens To Host Summer Concert Series

DETROIT(WWJ)- Kicking off July 29, Mount Clemens will become the hot spot for the 27th Annual Bud Light Riversight and Sound Concert Series.

The free concerts will be held in the Clinton Riverfront Park natural amphitheater in Downtown Mount Clemens every Friday throughout July and August. The series will include performances by both local and national artists. Acts include performances by The Dick Wagner Band with The Jim Cummings Band, Ron Klayfield & Company and Elvis Aaron Presley Jr.

Michelle Weiss, marketing and events coordinator for the Mount Clemens Downtown Development Authority, said the feel of the city's traditional downtown setting draws people from across Metro Detroit for the summer concerts.

"People like a sense of belonging," she said. "People come from other communities and they think of Mount Clemens as their downtown, and we're happy to embrace that."

Weiss said the family-friendly event is a unique way to reunite with friends and family.

"It's across the board age-wise," she said. "It's sort of a great way for people to gather on the waterfront."

All concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. In addition, the performance held on June 29 will be followed by a fireworks display.
