Practice Round At Indianwood County Club For Senior Open

LAKE ORION (WWJ) - Practice play underway Monday morning at Indianwood Golf  and Country Club in Lake Orion ahead of this week's U.S. Senior Open.

Mike Reis of Saginaw follows the PGA around, with several visits to the Masters, the TPC, the Ryder Cup in Oakland, even was a Marshall at the Buick Open, an event he'd' like to see come back.

"It did a lot for the community and charity in the area, I hope that the Buick Open does come back  or something else in Michigan - it's a great state to have a tournament in ... lot of golfers in this state," said Reis.

He says the players in the Senior Open are anything but past their prime.

"You know you see the older ones, more of the 60 and 70 (year-old) players, like a Chi-Chi Rodriguez who is no longer playing on the tour, and it was nice to see all those guys," said Rice.

"Now they are more like the 'super seniors'; Hale Erwin and his group of people, they are back in their upper 60s.

Reis says seeing these players on the Senior Tour also brings back good memories.
