Robbers Hit Woodhaven Wendy’s Before Police Chase

WOODHAVEN (WWJ) – Someone had a late night craving at Wendy’s in Woodhaven, and it wasn’t for a creamy Frosty or a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger.

Police say the fast-food restaurant outside of Meijer on Allen Road, near West Road, was robbed at gunpoint just before 2 a.m. Wednesday.

It’s unclear how much money, if any, the suspects got away with before leading police on a chase up Allen Road to northbound I-75 where they entered the freeway.

According to reports, the suspects tossed their weapons out onto the freeway at some point during the chase, before crashing near the Southfield Road exit.

The suspects, who were not named, were taken into custody.

Police from Brownstown Township assisted Woodhaven Police in the chase.
