Three Reasons Stafford Deserves Any Awards He Gets

1. Last year at this time, Matthew Stafford was being viewed by many as a draft bust, who couldn’t stay on the field because he was so injury prone. You never heard him whine about that perception. He just worked hard and proved his detractors wrong.

2. Stafford arrived in Detroit following an 0-16 season. In three short seasons, he took the Lions to 10 wins and the playoffs. Without Stafford, it’s highly unlikely the Lions would have even been .500 last season. He is probably only one of a half-dozen QBs in the NFL capable of turning around the Lions so quickly.

3. More than 5,000 yards passing? 41 TD passes? Come on. That’s one of the best seasons of all time for an NFL QB.
