ORION TWP. (WWJ) – A Lapeer County man wanted on child abuse charges has been charged in a separate crime in Orion Township.

Police say Edmund Proulx stole an AK-47 from the home he was renting the basement of and that he confessed to the crime– saying he then sold the assault rifle to a drug dealer in Flint.

Proulx has been arraigned on a $75,000 bond and faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted. Charges are also expected in the separate child abuse case.
