Toddler Nearly Drowns In Pontiac Pond

PONTIAC (WWJ) – A 1-year-old girl Pontiac is in the hospital after she nearly drowned over the weekend.

Police said the child had apparently wandered away from her home on Sunday when she was found unresponsive in Dawson Mill Pond — off of Telegraph Road near Orchard Lake.

A neighbor gave the toddler CPR until EMS crews arrived. They were able to resuscitate her and she was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police said they don’t know how long the little girl was under water.  Her condition was unknown Monday morning.

The child’s name has not been released.
