I’ve just gotten back from vacation and maybe I should leave town again. While lying in the sun for a week, the Tigers were burning up the American League. Many fans had written the team off in June…but 2 out hits and good starting pitching have turned the ship around. It’s amazing how much smarter Jim Leyland has become during this streak. His hunches have worked out…but not with Ryan Raburn.

Outfielder Andy Dirks is getting closer to returning to the Tigers, and has started a rehab stint with the Toledo Mudhens. Once he’s ready to come back….say good-bye to Mr Raburn

Miguel Cabrera

This is one amazing guy. His 2 home runs against the White Sox in the final game of the 3-game set at Comerica Park gave hims 300 for his career. He has become only the 14th player in baseball history to hit that many before the age of 30. The roundtrippers that brought him to the mark were monsterous shots, including one traveling 457 feet. Cabrera has also hit .358 with 14 homers and drove in 57 runs in the past 66 games.
