Michigan And Michigan State AD Challenge To Hit U-M Golf Course

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The second annual #B1GADgolf Challenge between Michigan and Michigan State will take to the U-M Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon (July 24) in a match play format featuring nine contests.

Dave Brandon, the Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics, chose the match play format for this year's event. The competition features a head-to-head match between Brandon and his MSU counterpart, Mark Hollis. In addition, the men's and women's golf coaches will square off against one another, and there will be four alumni player matches contested. The final two matches will pit players from the school's radio crews and professors from each campus against one another.

Admission is free for the #B1GADgolf match play event. Spectators for both institutions are welcome to attend the golf challenge and walk along during the action. Spectators must remain on cart paths or in the rough and approximately 15 yards from the players at all times.
Ringers on electronic devices must be turned off. Carts will not be provided for spectators.

The U-M Golf Course is located at 500 E. Stadium Boulevard (across from the William Davidson Player Development Center).

There will be a championship trophy presentation immediately following the conclusion of the matches.

Michigan State won the inaugural event in a playoff last summer at Eagle Eye Golf Club in East Lansing. After the teams finished 18 holes tied 9-9, MSU's Ryan Brehm sank a 20-foot putt on the first extra hole to give the Spartans the victory.
