'AquaPalooza' Party Takes Over Lake St. Clair

HARRISON TWP. (WWJ) - AquaPalooza, described as Lake St. Clair's biggest water and boat party, is coming to Macomb County this weekend.

This free event features two days of concerts, kids games, vendors and displays all along the shores of Lake St. Clair. The festival runs on Saturday, July 28 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Sunday, July 29 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Eric Foster, General Partner at Belle Maer Harbor, said the event is family oriented and everyone is invited.

"We've got about nine bands that will be playing over the two days. The band show will be on the lakefront at Belle Maer Harbor Marina, and there will be exhibitor booths on the lake front at Mac Ray Harbor, so we're utilizing two marinas that are facing the lake," said Foster.

Both days of free concerts feature some of Detroit's favorite artists, including Kaledio, After Dark Amusement Park, Meldrum Brothers Band, Robert James, Dirty Americans and Ty Stone.

"The nice part about the location here, in front of Belle Maer Harbor where the band show is, is that it's got a sandy bottom and it's quite shallow for quite a ways out so what they'll do is rope off an area that people can stand in," said Foster.
