Dombrowski Satisfied With Status Quo
The cost apparently was too high or the offerings were not to Detroit's liking, so the Tigers will enter August with the same cast of players they had at the end of July.
There were the usual reports -- allegedly false and otherwise -- but in the end, general manager Dave Dombrowski and manager Jim Leyland professed to like what they have. For now.
"Our everyday lineup is set," Dombrowski said Tuesday before the Tigers' 4-1, rain-shortened loss at Boston. "Our rotation is set. To me, we made our big deal. I'm content with our club."
