AUBURN HILLS (WWJ/AP) - Oakland University has decided to raise tuition by nearly three percent for the next school year.

School trustees approved the 2.96 percent increase Monday as they adopted a yearly budget. That means full-time in-state undergraduates will have to pay an additional $300 in tuition.

Graduate students will face a similar rate increase, at 2.94 percent.

The school projects about 20,000 students in the fall. Oakland University's campus straddles the Auburn Hills-Rochester Hills city limit.
