Police, Family Search For Disabled Man Missing Since Wednesday

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are asking for the public's help in finding a mentally disabled man who's been missing since Wednesday.

Police say 52-year-old James Wood was last seen around 1 p.m. getting into a cab on Petoskey street near Livernois and Fenkell.

His sister, Dwanda, is worried because Wood is in poor mental health.

"He don't know how to read, write, he don't understand, can't talk, he need's medication and he's really, really disabled," she said. "He don't know where he's going, so please, if anyone finds him please, please call," she said.

Wood is described as 5'-5" and 120 lbs with light brown skin, brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone who may have seen Woods or has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Detroit Police Criminal Investigations Unit at 313-596-5240.
