Karsch, Anderson, Fithian Think Lions Should Grab Maurice Jones-Drew

DETROIT (97.1 The Ticket) Doug Karsch, Scott Anderson and Dennis Fithian were the first 97.1 The Ticket hosts to take the stage Saturday at the Fantasy Football convention at Fifth Avenue in Royal Oak -- and right off the bat football fans had hot topics ready to go.

The first question they tackled was --  how many people want the Lions  to trade for Maurice Jones- Drew, running back from the Jacksonville Jaguars?

All three men on stage raised their hands.

Karsch pointed out that pro football analyst Adam Schefter said the Lions should trade for him.

"I'd offer up a second-round pick and any running back they want off the Lions' roster. If nothing else, Jacksonville would at least have to think about a deal for Mikel Leshoure and a second-round pick. It might not be enough to get it done, but it would at least give the Jaguars something to think about," Schefter said.

So, will the team do it?

"No, and I don't understand why," Karsch said, adding if they did make the deal, he believes they would be the Dallas Cowboys of the 1990s.

If the Lions had to trade a second round pick to get him -- they should, Karsch said.

He added that the Lions' best draft pick so far has been cornerback Dwight Bentley, who was selected with the Lion's 85th pick.
