3 Suspects Charged In Fatal Shootings On Southfield Service Drive

DETROIT (WWJ) - Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Demarius Barginere, 19, Cudaro Nelson-Johnson, 24, and Terry Dawson, 20, all of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting that took place on August 9, on the Southfield Service Drive in Detroit.

It's believed that Marcus Andrews, 19, was driving with Tashana Kalka, 17, in a Mercury Grand Marquis traveling southbound on the Southfield Service Drive, with two other passengers in the backseat.

Allegedly Kalka's ex-boyfriend, Barginere, pulled up next to the Grand Marquis and Nelson-Johnson opened fire on the occupants of the Grand Marquis, killing Andrews and Kalka.

"While all violent deaths are tragic, the death of these two young people while driving on a public street during the middle of the day is profoundly disturbing," said Prosecutor Worthy. "This just adds two more senseless deaths in the landscape that has been killing upon killing in Detroit this year."

All three defendants are charged with two counts of first degree murder, premeditated, two counts of assault with intent to murder and felony firearm.
