DEARBORN HEIGHTS (WWJ) – Two suburban Detroit men will be in the national spotlight Sunday night when the reality series “The Amazing Race” airs on CBS TV.
WWJ’s Sandra McNeill reports they’ll compete in a race with pit stops around the world.
“It’s like a major road rally across the world,” said Will Chiola of Dearborn Hieghts, one of two local contestants in “The Amazing Race”.
Gary Wojnar is his friend and partner in the realty contest which can be seen on CBS.
While the pair can’t reveal much about what will take place in the show, like where they went or how well they did, but Chiola said, “I could be made to look goofy, I don’t know how they are going to portray me.”
“I’m 6′ 6″ and Will is 5’1” so … we’re pretty goofy just to see walking down the street in the first place. We hear all kinds of things; “Mutt and Jeff – David and Golielith”,” added Wojnar.
Chiola said that being from Detroit gave them an edge: “We don’t have exactly the most luxurious city in the world so we were ready for places that we went to that … we felt comfortable.”
You can catch the premiere of “The Amazing Race” on CBS Sunday night.
