Southfield Police Search For Man Who Robbed Charter One Bank

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Police are searching for the man who robbed a Charter One Bank in Southfield at gunpoint.

Police say the man walked into the bank near at the corner of 10 Mile and Telegraph around 1 p.m. Thursday. Witnesses at the bank say the man approached a teller, took a handgun out of his backpack and said "give me all your money."

The teller handed the man an undisclosed amount of cash, which he placed in the backpack before leaving the building.

Police say a red dye pack went off in the parking lot as the man was leaving.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, 5'5" to 5'7" tall and 170 lbs. with a full beard. At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a dark-colored fedora hat, dark rimmed glasses, dark jacket, white shirt with vertical stripes and tan pants.

Police say the man drove away from the bank in a two-door, hatchback-style possibly Ford Focus, grey or silver in color with a bike rack on the back.
