WeCar Now For Rent At Grand Valley State

ALLENDALE -- Students, faculty and staff members at Grand Valley State University can rent a vehicle by the hour through the WeCar Car Sharing Membership Program beginning Monday, Oct. 15.

WeCar, owned and operated by Enterprise car rental company, will provide a transportation option for those who don't have a vehicle on campus. Vehicles are located on the Allendale Campus, reserved online and accessed using a membership card. Members must be age 18 or older, have a driver's license and a credit card.

"I see this as an opportunity to expand on the transportation options offered to students, faculty and staff," said Tim Thimmesch, associate vice president for Facilities Services. "With fewer people bringing cars to campus, the WeCar program offers the opportunity to still meet the occasional need for a personal vehicle. This program has been successfully implemented at other colleges and we are happy to provide this option at Grand Valley."
