DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - History could  be made in Tiger Town tonight. Tickets are already sold out for all three potential home games as the Detroit Tigers are just one win away from returning to the World Series for the first time since 2006.

Tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday and sold out in about 45 minutes.

The Tigs  hope to clinch the American League Championship Series with one more win Wednesday night over the New York Yankees.

While they may be up three games to none, Manager Jim Leyland would like to see the Tigers bats get a little hotter.

“We’re playing pretty good in all areas of the game right now … I’d like to get a few more runs, take a little pressure off, but you don’t get a lot of runs in post-season play because you’re facing an excellent pitcher every day out,” said Leyland. “So, we’re playing pretty good right now but we still … believe me, we’ve got a long way to go.”

Wednesday’s ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by 1968 World Series Hero Mickey Stanley.  Gates open at 6 p.m.

There was reportedly an issue for fans who purchased tickets using an AOL email address — a message pops up that doesn’t allow them to print. Tickets.com said is working on the problem.

Hear the game on 97.1 The Ticket.

(Note: Post-season tickets, when available, are only available by calling 866-66-TIGER or visiting tigers.com. Post-season tickets are not available at the Comerica Park box office. Fans are allowed purchase up to four tickets to any one World Series game, subject to availability.)
