NORWAY TWP. (WWJ/AP) – A man in the Upper Peninsula was killed when a car fell on him as he worked under it at his home.

Authorities say 52-year-old Wayne Raiche died Wednesday in Vulcan, an unincorporated village is in Norway Township about 10 miles east-southeast of Iron Mountain.

Police say Raiche was working under the car when it fell off a jack. Fire and ambulance personnel removed the man and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation revealed that the scissor jack being used collapsed and came out from under the vehicle.
