Man Sought In Birmingham Home Invasion

BIRMINGHAM (WWJ) – Police are looking for the public’s help to identify a man a Birmingham woman found hiding in her basement in the middle of the night.

The homeowner said she was home alone on Oct. 26 when she found the man in her home in the 800 block of Hazel about 3 a.m.

The woman, who ran upstairs and fled to a police station, said the man was sitting on the basement floor and did not speak to or threaten her in any way. As she was driving away, she thought she saw the man leave through a side door.

Nothing was taken from the home.

Police released a sketch of the suspect, a white man in his late 30s or early 40s with short, dark hair and glasses.

Anyone who recognizes the man in this sketch or has information about this home invasion is asked to call Birmingham Police Detective Lieutenant Carol Millgard at 248-530-1866.
