FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ/AP) - Scalp feeling itchy?

A lice clinic is celebrating a grand opening Saturday in Oakland County, and the owner is offering free head checks from noon to 6 p.m. Refreshments, too.

It’s called Rapunzel’s Lice Boutique on Farmington Road in Farmington Hills. Owner Sarah Casello-Rees already has locations in Ann Arbor, Sterling Heights and Grand Rapids.

Casello-Rees said she was inspired to start the business through an unfortunate personal experience. She got head lice from her son, who was 5 years old at the time. She says lice bugged her long, curly hair for a year.

After the free head checks Saturday, an inspection costs $10. A treatment typically costs $145.
