Michigan Starts Gardner At QB; Robinson Suits Up Vs. Northwestern

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan has decided to play quarterback Devin Gardner again.

The Wolverines announced on their Twitter account before Saturday's game against Northwestern that Gardner would start in place of injured Denard Robinson. The senior was expected to be in uniform on the sideline.

Robinson hasn't played in two weeks because of nerve damage in his right elbow. He seemed to throw passes OK about 90 minutes before the game against the Wildcats, but was not among the three quarterbacks taking snaps an hour before kickoff.

Gardner played well in his first start under center in a win over Minnesota. The junior threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score in the 35-13 road victory.
