Hardaway Jr. Named Big Ten Player of the Week

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Junior guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (Miami, Fla./Palmetto Senior) of the University of Michigan men's basketball team was named the Big Ten Player of the Week today (Monday, Nov. 12) by the conference office. Hardaway earns his first career conference player of the week accolade after receiving four freshman weekly honors two seasons ago.

In Michigan's regular-season opener against Slippery Rock, Hardaway led the Wolverines to a 100-62 victory, paced by his fourth career double-double performance of 25 points and 10 rebounds. The 25-point outing helped him become the 46th Wolverines to surpass 1,000 career points.

He closed the game going 8-for-10 from the field, including a 5-for-5 stat line from long range. Hardaway's five triples tied his career best for three pointers in a game. He added three assists and a steal in 31 minutes of action.

The Wolverines will return to Crisler on Monday (Nov. 12) when they host IUPUI for the first game of the NIT Season Tip-Off. The game will start at 9 p.m. and be televised on ESPNU.
