Stryker Chooses Wineman Technology for Medical Device Test Equipment, Software: Wineman Technology, a Saginaw-based design and test system integrator, announced Tuesday that it will develop five life cycle and durability test systems for Stryker Instruments for use in product development. Kalamazoo-based Stryker is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of medical technology. Wineman Technology developed, built, and delivered the first ‘Totally Reconfigurable Universal System Tester’ platform for Stryker in September with four more to be delivered by the end of the year. The second-generation generic test platform will be used in life cycle and durability testing for product research and development. It provides generic data acquisition of sensors as well as pneumatic and electro-mechanical control using scripts. With a high channel count and the ability to easily modify a test sequence using scripting, the system is ideal for medical device development testing as it adapts to the iterative changes associated with product design and development. Built on LabView, ‘Test Regulation Over Networks’ is a software communications framework developed by Wineman Technology for Stryker’s Instruments Division Test Lab that uses Ethernet to decouple specific hardware control and data acquisition functions from the user-interface in test systems. This decoupling approach provides a more distributed, modular, scalable, and flexible software framework that result in less required time and effort to develop specific test solutions. This new framework allows for easy communication between any LabVIEW controlled and monitored equipment in the test lab. Established in 1991, Wineman Technology Inc. specializes in providing technical solutions for a wide range of test applications, such as dynamometer systems, servo-hydraulic systems, real-time controllers and data acquisition, hardware-in-the-loop systems, and custom testing machines. Unlike other companies where test plays a partial role, Wineman Technology’s singular focus is the design and development of test equipment for advanced research and development, functional test labs, and manufacturing production. Wineman Technology’s focus on test systems with a diverse range of capabilities enables them to deliver superior system reliability, serviceability, and support. More at www.winemantech.com.
