Oakwood Signs $120 Million IT Outsourcing Deal With CareTech Solutions

TROY -- Troy-based CareTech Solutions, an IT and Web products and services provider for more than 200 hospitals, Thursday announced a five-year renewal of its IT outsourcing contract with Dearborn-based Oakwood Healthcare.

In addition to renewing the existing agreement, several new services were added, putting the contract value at approximately $120 million.

Oakwood was CareTech's first customer, and its first contract with CareTech dates back to 1998.

"Oakwood's longstanding partnership with CareTech and their commitment to service and technology in health care inspired our decision to renew our outsourcing agreement," said Paula Smith, senior vice president and CIO at Oakwood. "In addition to renewing the prior outsourcing agreement, we added data center hosting and infrastructure monitoring services. This comprehensive arrangement enables the Oakwood IT team to provide the exceptional support and service our doctors, nurses and administrative staff needs to excel in today's highly electronic healthcare environment."
