NEW YORK (AP) — Comments on the Detroit Lions by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

___

DETROIT LIONS (19)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 19) — Happy Thanksgiving.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 21) — Loss to Green Bay was a crusher. Getting back to playoffs will be tough.

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 23) — Running out of time; lack of running game has held them back all season.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 21) — It’s just about over for the Lions. A Thanksgiving Day loss to the Texans, and that could be it.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 20) — WR Calvin Johnson is heating up with three consecutive 100-yard receiving games for the Lions. Too little, too late, though.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 19) — Since starting 5-0 last season, the Lions are 9-13. Check, please.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 19) — That 0-4 mark in the division tells you all you need to know.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 18) — The Lions have the parts to be a very good team, but it has yet to come together. They will win some games down the stretch, but it looks like 2013 before the playoffs.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 19) — The Lions needed the win against the Packers but fell short, adding to the disappointment of this season thus far.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 18) — At 4-6, Detroit’s playoff hopes are on life support. The plug will be pulled if the Lions don’t win at home Thursday against, gulp, Houston.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 18) — Time is running out for the Lions to make a run for the playoffs, and they get the Texans on Thanksgiving next.
