Jaguar And Land Rover Want To Make A Big Impression On Big Spenders

MAHWAH, N.J. – (WWJ) – If you're a smaller luxury brand, and you want to make a big impression on people with money to spend, you may want to make that impression in the land of Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive.

Jaguar Land Rover plans three separate introductions at the LA Auto Show.

"This year's Los Angeles Auto show is one of the most significant U.S. shows in years for Jaguar Land Rover as we launch a true modern day British invasion with the debut of three breakthrough new products," said Jaguar Land Rover North America President, Andy Goss. "Jaguar Land Rover is making major strides to grow the business with highly targeted new products. The new Jaguar F-TYPE, Jaguar XFR-S and all new Range Rover will all make a major impact, specifically in the United States, which will be the world's largest market for all three vehicles."

The two well known British brands were sold by Ford a couple of years ago to India's Tata Motors. Since then, they've been trying to carve a unique identiy in the US market.

Jaguar describes the XFR-S as, "The fastest and most powerful sedan Jaguar has ever produced. This is the second model in the ultra-high performance R-S range, with just 100 sedans being offered for the 2014 model year in the U.S. market - making it one of the most exclusive Jaguar models ever."

The all new Range Rover makes its U.S. Auto Show debut close to its launch date. Land Rover says it's the first SUV with an all aluminium body, making it 700 pounds lighter than the current model. With a 5-liter V-8 engine, the new Range Rover has a sticker price of $83,5001.

Jaguar is also showing off an updated version of it's F-TYPE sports car. It comes with three choices of engines (340hp, 380hp and 495hp versions) and a sticker price starting at $69,0002. The 2014 Jaguar F-TYPE will go on sale this summer.
