DETROIT (WWJ) - There’s something new coming to this year’s North American International Auto Show — other than 2014 models and concept cars.
A new facility in the Cobo Center lobby will offer show-goers healthier food options including nutritious salads and sandwiches.
WWJ Newsradio 950 spoke with ‘Go Natural’ manager, Jason Hogard.
“People are becoming more health-conscious nowadays, so the typical just, the burgers and the fries and stuff, isn’t filling the niche,” said Hogard. “And, with the Auto Show leading up to it, the clientele with the Auto Show, we thought this was a good opportunity to launch this type of concept.”
Hogard said ‘Go Natural’ will feature an Asian chicken salad, southwest turkey sandwich, tuna salad and tuna sandwich along with hot offerings including a buffalo chicken sandwich.
Still, fast food fanatics have nothing to fear. Hogard said there will also be the traditional pizza, burgers and hot dogs served at the show. And, coming this summer, Cobo Center will have a brand new food court.
This year’s Auto Show will open to the public Saturday-Sunday, January 19-27, 2013. Stay with WWJ Newsradio 950 and CBSDetroit.com for complete coverage with our AutoBeat Reporter Jeff Gilbert during media preview days.
