Tuition Hike Approved At Macomb Community College For Fall
MACOMB COUNTY (AP) - The Macomb Community College Board of Trustees approves a tuition hike for the 2013 - 2014 school season.
Resident tuition will increase by $3 to $89 per credit hour, and an additional $5 per credit hour technology and facility fee will now be assessed.
The new fee and tuition rates are designed to address the significant financial challenges that Macomb is continuing to manage, including decline in property tax revenue, continued increases in mandated expenditures, such as retirement system payments, and the failure of a Nov. 2012 ballot proposal that was to fund necessary facilities and technology upgrades to the college's aging infrastructure, much of which is more than 40 years old.
