DETROIT (AP) - Police say a 72-year-old woman has died after a family member accidentally ran her over in Detroit while backing out of a driveway.

The Detroit News reports the woman was knocked down Wednesday night on the city’s east side and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say the man was taken into custody and later released. The woman’s name wasn’t immediately released and police were awaiting autopsy results.
