ZEELAND, Mich. (AP) - Zeeland Christian School sixth-graders will be helping Zeeland officials put together a “splash pad” proposal.

Students will help engineers put together a proposal for a water feature at Heritage Square Park. The Zeeland Christian class was looking for a project for a project management learning program.

City Manager Tim Klunder tells MLive.com the “city is under no obligation to accept any of the ideas” but he thinks “this will be a nice project for both the sixth-graders and the city.”

The splash pad has been identified as a top goal of both the City Council and downtown business leaders.
No funding sources have been identified for the project estimated between $300,000 and $350,000.

If approved, the splash pad is expected to be completed by Memorial Day 2014.
